MOSCOW, October 14 (RIA Novosti) - North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has made his first public appearance in more than a month, NK News reported Tuesday, citing North Korean state media.

According to the news outlet, Kim Jong-un attended a field guidance session on Monday with a number of other high-ranking officials. Photos published by the North Korean Rodong Sinmun newspaper showed him walking with a cane.

The North Korean supreme leader was last seen in public when he attended a concert with his wife on September 3. Kim's lengthy absence from the public eye sparked much speculation about his health and whereabouts.

Earlier media reports suggested that Kim Jong-un received treatment for an ankle injury at a clinic in the North Korean capital, Pyongyang. North Korean state media have stated that Kim was suffering from "discomfort”.
