08.09 Serena Williams Wins US Open for Third Time in A Row

MOSCOW, September 8 (RIA Novosti) - American tennis player Serena Williams won the US Open annual tennis championship for the third time in a row and for the sixth time in her career.

Williams, 32, beat Denmark’s Caroline Wozniacki 6:3, 6:3 in the competition’s finals, held on Sunday at the Billie Jean Tennis Centre in New York City.

Earlier, Williams became the winner of the contest in 1999, 2002, 2008, 2012 and 2013.
