21.09 Lavrov, Kerry Discuss Anti-IS Measures in Phone Conversation: Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW, September 21 (RIA Novosti) - In a phone conversation with US Secretary of State John Kerry, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov underscored the importance for the international community to coordinate its steps in the fight against the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group, Russian Foreign Ministry said Sunday in a press release.

"In the course of an exchange of views on the ways of counteracting the Islamic State terrorist group, S. Lavrov stressed the importance of coordinated, without double standards, actions of the international community for opposing this threat," the press release reads.

Russian Foreign Minister also urged Kerry to refrain from misrepresenting facts "in the context of Syria."
