15.02 Olympic Hockey: Bobrovski to Tend Goal for Russia Against the US

SOCHI, February 15 (R-Sport) - Sergei Bobrovski of the Columbus Blue Jackets is to tend goal for host nation Russia in its Sochi Olympic hockey game against the United States later Saturday, the team's spokesman said.

Bobrovski got the call over Alexander Yeromenko of Dynamo Moscow and Colorado Avalanche goaltender Semyon Varlamov, who started Russia's opening 5-2 win over Slovenia on Thursday.

The Americans started their Sochi campaign in style with a 7-1 drubbing of Slovakia.

Russia is searching for its first hockey gold since the Soviet Union break-up.
