13.12 Russian Mother Probed for Murder of 2-Month-Old Daughter

STAVROPOL, December 12 (RIA Novosti) – Investigators said they have opened a criminal case against a woman in southern Russia suspected of killing her own two-month-old daughter. 

The 32-year-old woman in the city of Stavropol was discovered by her mother dangling the dead infant head-down while biting various parts of her body, regional investigators said in a statement posted Thursday. 

The baby had numerous injuries, including an open head wound, skull fractures, and bite wounds on her chest, the statement said.  

Investigators said they have opened a murder case against the mother.
