02.09 Ukrainian Flees Lovers Quarrel by Crossing Border in Stolen Tractor
MOSCOW, September 2 (RIA Novosti) A Ukrainian man who got into a fight with his girlfriend in a Russian border village stole her fathers tractor and made an apparently unlawful run for the border, local media reported.
Border guards followed the vehicles tracks to the 48-year-old Ukrainians house in a village just across the state line and found him reportedly so drunk he was barely able to stand, local news site Kharkov.comments.ua said Monday.
The man, whose identity was not disclosed, faced 15 days in jail for crossing the border illegally, the site reported. However, it was not clear whether he would face time for taking the tractor.
