16.08 Usain Bolt Strolls Into 200m Semifinals at Moscow Worlds
MOSCOW, August 16 (R-Sport) - Usain Bolt cruised into the semifinals of the 200 meters at the world championships in Moscow on Friday, leaving plenty of power in reserve.
Bolt strolled to victory in 20.66 seconds, the slowest winning time in any of the seven heats, ahead of Britains Delanno Williams and Lalonde Gordon of Trinidad and Tobago.
Bolt was in control of the race about 50m in, and was far below his maximum pace at the end.
The first three in each of the seven heats qualify for Friday evenings semifinals, as do the three fastest other runners across the heats.
The championships are being held at Moscows Luzhniki arena, the venue for athletics at the 1980 Olympics, and end Sunday.
