16.08 Canadas Whyte, Americas Ali Roll to Hurdles Semis in Moscow
MOSCOW, August 16 (R-Sport) Canadas Angela Whyte won the first heat of the womens 100 meter hurdles at the world athletics championships in the Russian capital on Friday.
Whyte took victory in 12.93 seconds, ahead of Italys Marzia Caravelli, Nadine Hildebrand of Germany and US hurdler Nia Ali, all of whom reach the semifinals automatically.
The first four in each of the five heats qualify for Saturdays semifinals, as do the four fastest other runners across the heats.
