MAGADAN, July 23 (RIA Novosti) � Police in the Magadan region has detained a 17-year-old teen who confessed to having stolen 10 cars and sinking some of them in a local lake, a Magadan police spokesperson said.

�In order to locate and retrieve the stolen vehicles from the lake, police requested the assistance of the regional search-and-rescue unit from the Ministry of Emergencies,� the spokesperson said.

�After a brief search, the divers discovered the vehicles at the bottom of the [Glinka] lake and brought them to the shore,� the official said.

An investigation and assessment of damages to stolen cars are underway, he said.
