05.07 Russian Celebrity Magazine Names Putin Most Eligible Bachelor
MOSCOW, July 5 (RIA Novosti) A smiling President Vladimir Putin is featured on a Russian celebrity magazine cover as the countrys most eligible bachelor, a month after the announcement of his divorce.
This weeks Tainy Zvyozd (Secrets of the Stars) magazine says that ever since the countrys first couple announced their split on state television, Russian women have been casting their eyes in the direction of their 60-year-old leader.
However, the Putins, married for almost 30 years, have not yet officially filed for divorce, the presidents press secretary said following the cover-page tribute.
The article praises Putins macho man image and his passion for sports, and shows him fishing with his shirt off and flying a glider.
The weekly Tainy Zvyozd has a circulation of nearly600,000 in Russia and Ukraine.
